070 - Ladoussa
THE OIL that was produced in oil presses was transported by the workers to their home in large containers, the so-called “ladoussa”. These were cans, with a lid at the top and four handles, two on the side and two near the orifice, making them easier to transport. They were made of metal shΕΕΤs and, in order to withstand the pressure and the weight of the liquid inside, craftsmen placed metal plates (wreaths) at equal distances, along the surface of the container.
